Lil HipStar is the newest brand on the block. They have hip and quirky GOTS organic clothing for kids aged one to six. Meet Henry the Cockatoo, Colo the Koala and Cool Croc in their new SS19 collection with a focus on fun Australian animal prints.
I have recently bought a dress for my daughter and the style, fabric quality and detailing are AMAZING! Trust me on this one!
What products do they make?
Lil HipStar produce multi-seasonal pieces for your child’s wardrobe. They’re all designed right here in Melbourne.
Staple pieces include:
I love that each garment’s detailing is well thought out for your little one. Think pockets in dresses, buttons for easy wear and exceptional quality.
Something I highly respect is the fact that Lil HipStar has thought about creating a collection that embraces each Australian and New Zealand climate.
Each piece can be layered with basics that make them last through a couple seasons. This ties into their ethos of creating sustainability through children’s fashion.
Sustainability and individuality are threads that run throughout Lil HipStar’s ethos. Most importantly, they believe each child should be nourished not only by the clothes they wear and the food they eat, but by the environment they are surrounded by.
In turn, they design and produce garments that organic (GOTS) and provide fair trade conditions to their workers. Lil HipStar believes that we can educate our children and ourselves to choose environmentally sustainable products and lifestyles to protect ourselves and our beautiful earth.
From the harvesting of raw materials, garment dyeing, garment processing and labelling they believe in a holistic approach for creating organic textiles with the consumer in mind.
Lil HipStar’s natural dyes are derived from Chinese herbal medicines including Radix, Turmeric, and fruit. These herbs have antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-UV, and other benefits. Plant dyed fabrics produced with organic cotton are breathable and softer for children’s skin. Therefore can reduce skin discomfort caused allergies, asthma or eczema.
Lil HipStar’s manufacturer has developed a method of dyeing that makes the organic fabric more durable AND the leftover water is safe enough to be used to directly irrigate crops! How great is that?!
To sum up… if you love what you’re seeing and hearing, be sure to pop across and check out Lil HipStar. You and your little one will love this brand!
