Teething – it’s hard work
I’m just going to come right out and say it. Teething is HARD WORK. For your poor little baby, yes, of course, but also for you too Mama! It’s tricky when you’re a first time mum and you don’t know what to expect and when to expect it. And yes there will tears. You end up feeling so sorry for your little one and know that this is just something they have to go through. But you can get prepared and have a few things to help you out.
When does teething start?
Teeth can come through at various times but on a whole, babies tend to get that first tooth at any stage between 3-15 months. I remember very well my son getting his first tooth when he was 3.5 months old. And yip, it was tough going for a while! At first, I wasn’t actually even sure that he had a tooth! Until the signs became pretty obvious.
What are the signs of teething?
Some of the standard signs to look out for are the following:
- increased dribbling
- rosy red cheeks
- chew on everything
- they can be irritable
- not sleeping very well
- can even have loose & frequent stools
- bottom rash too
What can you to do help?
One option is to have a teething toy for them to suck on and rub against their gums.
Across at Bubba Chew Silicone Jewellery & Teething products, they have a great range of teethers (plus lots of teething necklaces for mum to wear too). Today we’re going to take a look at their wooden teethers.
Wooden teething toys
Wooden teething toys are great, especially when teeth are cutting and the gums are itchy. These wooden teething toys are suitable for babies from 3 months of age. What’s so great is that these toys are easy to grip even with the smallest palm. Plus, wood is naturally anti-bacterial, non-allergenic, and non-toxic material. It is tough, durable, safe for your child and environment.
What are the wooden teething toys made from
Bubba Chew Beechwood Teethers are made from the highest quality Beechwood (contaminate free), right here in Australia. Each teether is sealed in 100% pure food grade Tung oil. Oil closes the tiny pores in the wood making the toy easier to clean and helps it last longer.
All of these wooden teething toys you can see cost $16.95
Personalised teething toys
Something additional you can do, is to personalise the wooden teething toy. Each teether can be customised with your child’s name, for just an additional $3.00. Just add the name as a note when placing the order and allow for additional time.
